The BES School Resource Officer, Deputy Donithan, is more than just our School Resource Officer—he is a beloved and essential part of our school community. Kind and approachable, he checks in daily with faculty and staff, always ensuring everyone feels supported. Knowing every student by name, he has built strong relationships and is a familiar, trusted presence in our building. Beyond his role in keeping us safe, he actively participates in school life—mentoring the Lego Robotics team, lending a hand in classrooms, reading to students, and even helping with the Garden Fairies Program. Deputy Donithan invests his time in helping students grow - both in learning and in leadership. Whether he’s called on or simply sees a need, he never hesitates to step in to help. His presence makes our school a better, brighter, and safer place for everyone. Thank you, Deputy Donithan!

Celebrate Kindness Week with us!
This week our school had so much fun kicking off this year’s Kids Heart Challenge! Alongside this year’s heart heroes, we’re learning about healthy hearts and life lessons like getting active, asking for help, resting well and being kind. Can you believe the 100th day of school is THIS Friday?!? We are planning to celebrate 100 days of learning in a big way!

In Byrd fashion, our Eagles lit up the night at the Glow Dance on Friday! From neon lights to glowing smiles, the energy was electric as students and their families danced, laughed, and made special memories.

The 2025 Goochland Reads selection is, A Boy Called Bat by Elana Arnold! We are excited to share Bats story with our school community! Tonight we read chapters 1 & 2. Faculty, staff, and students received a copy of the book, and a reading calendar to follow along with the fun!
