FOOD PANTRY FRIDAYS
At Byrd Elementary School we believe in helping our neighbors! We will be doing “Food Pantry Friday” as a way to help increase the availability of food and household products at the Goochland Food Pantry. Students can bring in donations at any time during the week. Items will be collected from all classrooms on Friday.
Empathy and compassion are skills we instill in our students, as well as community involvement. We will keep tally of which class has the highest donations each week in order to receive a treat!
Schedule of Collection:
October 3-7: pork & beans, canned meats, and crackers
October 10-14: canned vegetables, boxed cake mix and brownie mix
October 17-21: canned fruit and boxed dressing
October 24-28: pasta and sauces of all kinds
October 31-November 4: toiletry items of ALL KINDS
November 7-11: oatmeal, peanut butter and jelly *Pre-School will collect JELLY AND OATMEAL ONLY due to allergies.
Bring your items to your homeroom teacher. It will be collected from your classroom each week. Thank You!
