This is our last week of school. 5th grade graduation is on Tuesday, and students will dismiss early on Wednesday (12:15 for car riders and 12:30 for bus riders). We hope all of our families will have a safe and restful summer, and we look forward to welcoming back our Eagles in August!
Please help your student return any library books.
iPad Information for Grades 3-5
Students in 3rd-5th grade will keep their iPads over the summer. Students in 3rd-5th grade who have not paid the annual insurance fee will turn in their iPad to the library prior to the last day of school. Families who would prefer the student's device NOT come home for the summer, should turn in their device and charger/cable to the school library before the last day of school. Students are expected to arrive at school with their iPad on the first day of school, August 22nd.
In addition, families who were issued a Kajeet are to return all Kajeets to the school library. All Kajeets will be turned off over the summer and reissued in the fall. Any technical assistance needed over the summer please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Looking Ahead to 2022-2023 School Year
Please continue to notify the office to report reasons for all absences! There are many different ways to report your student’s absence.
You can email Tobie Greenlee (email@example.com) or email Nurse Britton (firstname.lastname@example.org).
You can also call the office (804-556-5380)
Or fill out the BES Reason for Student Absence Form
If you have to make a change to your child's transportation arrangements for the day, please notify the office by 1:00 p.m. (emergencies only). It is important that your child arrives home safely and it is not always possible to notify the teacher's or a child of a change to how they will be transported.
Monday all students will receive a special Byrd bag with two books (of their choosing), math materials, and a packet with recommended summer learning activities. The bag will also include information on summer reading programs. If students participate in the GCPS summer reading program, then they will receive a FREE ticket to a GHS home football game in the fall and a prize bag! You can see the flyer HERE.
