because we care

Holiday stress is very real. The holidays can present an array of demands on all of us. Schools are closed, we’re away from our teachers and friends, and we have many home obligations to take care of. That’s why it’s important to remember to take care of ourselves and one another during this time.

Here are a few tips to help you through the holiday season:

  1. Focus on what you can control. Control what you can to take care of your physical and mental health.

  2. Keep healthy habits. It’s important to keep healthy habits in place no matter your holiday plans. This can include going on a daily walk, getting a good night’s rest or staying hydrated. Taking care of your physical health also helps reduce feelings of stress and anxiety, and can improve long-term wellbeing.

  3. Make time for yourself. It can be overwhelming to spend time with family and friends during the holidays. Remember to plan time for yourself.

  4. Create new traditions. It may feel challenging to revert to holiday traditions from 2019, and that’s okay. Create new traditions that work for you that prioritize your overall well-being.

  5. Ask for help if you need it. If you’re feeling sad, stressed, anxious or depressed, ask for help. Talk to someone you trust. Our school buildings may be closed but there are still people and resources available to help you.
