This Friday, September 24th is a teacher work day, so students will not report to school. Also, one day this week we will have an intruder drill at school. Teachers will go over the importance of practicing drills within our safe school environment, and emphasize with students that it is just a drill - and students are completely safe. During the drill students will hear a loud sound, as they do with a fire drill. Teachers will instruct students ahead of time as to what the class will do at the time of the drill. You may hear your student mention the drill when they get home. It is good to also emphasize that drills are important for us to do so we know how to act safely at all times.
Please remember to check over the Health Screening Questions each day. The best way for us all to keep our children healthy is to encourage good hand washing, mask wearing, and please keep your children home whenever sick. If your student is absent you should call the front office or school nurse (804) 556-5380.
We are looking forward to seeing families at our Open House on Tuesday, September 21. You should receive information from your child's homeroom teacher regarding your assigned time to visit for the evening. The time assignments help us to manage social distancing.
