Meet Your School Librarian, Mrs. Parrish

I've taught as a classroom teacher, special education teacher (virtual and in-person), and as a Technology Coach in Goochland County! I love working in the library at Byrd! My days are filled championing reading through engaging school-wide programing, helping students to find books they will love, supporting students conducting research, helping students and teachers with technology, and managing resources at our school.

I have degrees in elementary education, special education, school librarianship, and a master's degree in Instructional Technology. I have a passion for sharing technology tools with teachers and students to make learning more engaging and efficient. I am also Google and Apple Certified Teacher. I love to find ways to integrate literature with STEAM. I teach students about computer science and coding, digital citizenship, and support our school's Maker Space.

I live in Goochland County with my three boys and husband. We love this community! I feel fortunate to both teach at Byrd and have children attending this amazing school!
