Hello Byrd Families! You may notice our Weekly Updates look a little different this week. We are using a new platform to share information with you. This should be easily viewable on any device and make locating links, etc easier for you! Most exciting, our weekly updates are now more accessible than ever and can be translated in many different languages straight from your device. Starting this week, you should receive an email with a link to the updates, as well as a text and quick phone call highlighting everything that will be covered in the newsletter. We welcome your feedback as we take a risk and try something new!Now, for the updates and reminders this week, we know that there is a lot of information coming your way right now and many choices to be made. This is a lengthy update but full of great information so please be sure to read to the end!

- Through a partnership with Kroger, Goochland County Public Schools is sponsoring a drive-thru flu vaccination clinic on Tuesday, October 6, from 3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Goochland High School. If you have health insurance, bring your card for billing purposes. If you do not have health insurance, the cost is $25 per vaccine. Online registration is required. Please see the flyer for registration links, as well as other important information for the clinic.
- The Chickahominy Health District is offering a free drive-through clinic as well. This drive-through clinic is scheduled for October 3, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Fire Station #6 in Hadensville (4810 Three Chopt Rd). See flyer
- Bon Secours is also hosting two separate drive-through flu clinics. These vaccinations are free of charge, regardless of whether or not families have insurance. Flyers for these clinics are also attached.

Students who are learning virtually for at least 5 consecutive days and are eligible for free or reduced-price meals are eligible to receive a P-EBT benefit this fall. If you received a P-EBT benefit this past spring or summer, the new benefit will be automatically added to your card. It is not necessary to contact the school about this benefit. All eligible students will be submitted for benefits by the school division. Benefits will be issued between September 30 and October 15, 2020. If you have questions about P-EBT after this date or want more information, please visit the DSS P-EBT webpage to submit your question and receive a response.
As a reminder, the Virginia P-EBT Card will have food assistance benefits on it that can be used for food items anywhere SNAP benefits are accepted.
Participation in the program is voluntary. If you choose not to participate in the program, please dispose of the card by cutting through the magnetic stripe and discarding it in a secure manner. You will not be able to redeem the food benefits, nor can you transfer the card to someone else.
