Good evening Byrd Family,
We hope you’ve had a lovely weekend!
This is the last week of school before winter break begins. On Friday, students will dismiss at 1:00.
This week the holiday shop will open for students during lunch times.
This Monday after school the Good News Club will meet. The Made with Code Party for 4th and 5th grade boys will take place until 4:30 on Monday. Students who returned the permission slip and received a reminder slip on Friday can attend.
This is the final week the 5th graders will collect for Food Pantry Fridays. Students have done an amazing job organizing this effort to help our community. This week students are collecting items for peanut butter and jelly. If you would like to help support this great cause, then please send your items in by Friday.
We hope you and your family enjoy a wonderful and safe winter break, and a very happy holiday season! We will look forward to starting a new semester with students when they return on January 2nd!

We cannot wait for tomorrow night and the presentation of the BES winter program! The program starts at 6:30 at Goochland High School. We look forward to seeing you at this most memorable event.
Candy Grams will be for sale every morning this week from 8:00-8:30. One candy gram is fifty cents. You can find the order form posted on the school website and attached to the weekly email. The PTA is also collecting new adult-sized hats, gloves, socks, and scarves for the residents of Envoy at the Meadows. Please consider donating to this wonderful cause!
McDonald’s McFund Coupon Books are back this year! They are on sale for $5 until Friday.

The 5th graders at Byrd are hard at work again this year organizing and managing Food Pantry Fridays. This week students are collecting boxed items such as rice, mashed potatoes, mac’n’cheese, and cereals. If you would like to help support this great cause, then please send your items in by Friday.
If you have a boy in 4th or 5th grade who would like to learn more about the possibilities of computer programing as a career, then please return the form for the Coding Party that will come home with students on Monday. The event will take place on Monday, December 12th. You can find the invitation with more information on our school website.
the PTA winter social will take place this Friday, December 9th, from 3:10 to 6:00 pm. It is $5 per child to attend, and snacks and a beverage are included. Pictures with Santa are available for $2 each. Please send in the permission form and payment by December 7th.
