Archives for October 2016
We hope you enjoyed the weekend.
Thanks to everyone who supported our students in the Walk-A-Thon on Friday. The PTA will continue to accept donations for the event throughout the week.
Spirit Wear orders have been placed. Any forms turned in this week will be returned.
This week Good News Club will continue on Monday, and Chess Club and Junior Master Gardeners will continue on Tuesday. After school enrichment classes will continue on Wednesday, and end at 4:15.
The Lego Robotics Team at Byrd, the Dancing’ Dawgz, is collecting money donations for BARK through the month of October. BARK stands for Bandit’s Adoption and Rescue of K-9s. They are supporting the rescue as part of their challenge. Every penny, nickel, dime, quarter, and dollar will go to help dogs in need. Donations can be sent to school attention of Mrs. Labott. The team thanks you for your help.
It is time to mark your calendars for the fall book fair, which will take place the week of October 24th through the 28th. Every book purchased at the Book Fair supports our school library program. On Tuesday, October 25th, we will have our annual Title I Event and Fall Festival. Costumes are encouraged, and families are invited to sign up for the Chili Cook-Off. Students will bring home a flier with more information later this week. The school is now accepting donations of candy bags for the indoor trick-or-treat portion of the evening.
You can also mark your calendars for Make-up Picture Day, which is Friday, October 28th.
Finally, we would like to remind you that next Monday, October 17th, is a student holiday.
Have a great week!
