Hello Byrd Family,
It was great to see so many of our Blue Ribbon Readers out at Field Day of the Past today, and we hope you had a wonderful weekend.
The first announcement for the week is one of great importance: Last week students brought home a flier about the Walk-A-Thon, which will take place onFriday, October 7th. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, and it is a fun-filled day for our students. Please consider donating and participating to help our school. There is a cash prize for the child with the most donations, extra recess for the class with the most cumulative donations, and prize drawings for children that bring in donations. The PTA is also accepting donations of bananas, apple slices, and water bottles for students. If you would like to help with this event, then place contact our PTA President, Brook Perry, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to seeing you Tuesday night for Back to School Night! From 5-6:30 you can visit classrooms. Your child’s teacher may have sent home more specific information about the event. We will have a representative visiting from the Goochland Library to sign up students and families for library cards. Also, you can join the PTA. Our first PTA meeting of the year will start at 6:30 Tuesday night. All families are welcome, and we appreciate the support for our school and your child’s education by supporting the PTA!
The Yankee Candle Fundraiser continues this week.
If your 3-5th grader would like to join the Junior Master Gardener after school program called Learn, Grow, Eat, and Go!, then please send in the green permission slip by this Wednesday.
Fall kicks off this week, and we are looking forward to sprucing up our courtyard. If you would like to donate mums or fall decorations, then please contact 2nd grade teacher Holly Swift by calling the school or emailing email@example.com.
Thank you for reading, and have a great week!
