Reminders for the Week of May 16th
We hope you had a lovely weekend, and we look forward to a great week of school ahead.
SOL tests continue this week, so please make sure your student gets a good night sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, and starts the morning on a positive note if he or she is a testing 3rd, 4th, or 5th grader. You can find the testing schedule posted on our website.
Read to Win forms were due on Friday, but they will be accepted tomorrow. This is the summer reading program run by the county library to encourage students to read over summer break. The program is free, students do not have to go anywhere, and students can win prizes. Please sign your student up for this wonderful program to exercise his or her brain over the summer! All students brought home the form and it is posted on our website.
Field Day 2016 is fast approaching on Tuesday, May 31st! This is a full day of fun for BES students. If you would like to help with this event please return the form your child brought home or print the form from our school website. You can also contact Crystle Ware atcdware4@aol.com. Help in any amount, big or little, is greatly appreciated and can go a long way to make this a fun and memorable day for our students.
We would like to remind parents that any changes to their child’s normal mode of transportation requires a note sent to the office. If there is a bus change, parents must call transportation and send a note to the school. The Transportation number is (804) 556-5630. These measures are for the safety of our precious children.
Thank you for reading. Have a wonderful week!
Earth Day Celebration
BES students celebrated Earth Day by learning more about how we can appreciate our natural resources. Two guest speakers from the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries spoke to students about Virginia wildlife and animal habitats.
We learned so much from Mr. Wilcox and Mr. Jeff! Thank you for visiting BES and sharing your knowledge with us!
