Hello Byrd Families!
Happy Daylight Saving Day. We hope you had a wonderful weekend.
We look forward to seeing everyone this week on Tuesday night, March 15th, for the PTA meeting and School Science Fair. The students have put so much hard work into their science fair projects, and they are amazing! You won’t want to miss them. The PTA meeting starts at 6:30. There will also be a special presentation concerning College Funding.
This week you also won’t want to miss the All County Chorus Performance on Thursday night at 6:30 at the secondary complex. Ms. Watts and the 4th and 5th graders have been preparing for weeks, and they are ready to put on a memorable performance.
Friday, March 18th, is the annual BES auction. It is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. Come out to school from 6:15pm to 9pm to enjoy the event and take home some wonderful products. This year teachers are auctioning fun activities with students!
The following is an important message regarding the courtyard. Now that the weather is warmer many teachers would like to get students outside to conduct hands-on learning investigations. We are in particular need of donations of plants or seeds, potting soil, compost, gardening tools (specifically wheelbarrows, gardening hoes, and shovels), and your own expertise if you would like to work with students! If you are dividing plants in your yard this spring, we would gladly take your plants! We would love to have the help of parents that would like to help students learn how to plant and tend to gardens. If you are interested in making a donation you can call the school, email 2nd grade teacher Holly Swift at email@example.com, or complete the form we have posted on the website. We plan to have a community clean up day on Saturday, April 16th, to get the courtyard into tip top shape for learning activities.
Remember to turn in your Go Nutz for Reading forms by March 25th, if you would like to attend the baseball game on April 15th.
Thank you for reading and have a great week!
