Good evening Byrd families!
Dr. Seuss Week is finally here! Weekend visitors have turned the entrance of our school into Seussville, and we will kick-off a week of fun with a school-wide assembly tomorrow morning. Students are invited to dress each day this week. Tuesday students should wear as many pockets as possible for There’s a Wocket in my Pocket. Wednesday students are encouraged to make a birthday hat to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s actual birthday, or they can wear another special hat. The book for Wednesday is Happy Birthday to You! Thursday is “Seuss”tastic day, and we look forward to students dressing up as their favorite Seuss character. Friday we will celebrate the book Oh! The Places You Will Go! and students should dress their best for success. Friday is also school picture day. For more information on Seuss Week please see the flier posted on the school website.
Remember to turn in your Go Nuts for Reading forms by Friday, March 25th. Students who complete the bookmark will receive a free ticket to the Flying Squirrels baseball game on Thursday, April 23rd. Families can purchase additional tickets at a discounted rate by completing the form on the bookmark and submitting the payment with the completed bookmark. Families can also buy tickets on the day of the game at the box office in front of the Diamond. Nutzy will visit students at lunch tomorrow. We will have a “character free zone” for students who wish to keep their distance.
4th and 5th grade students in Reading Olympics who plan to attend the Snicker of Magic event should turn in their forms as soon as possible this week. The event is next Tuesday.
Have a great week!
