Week of November 16th Reminders
Hello evening Byrd families!
We hope you have had a wonderful weekend. One group of students was very busy this weekend. The Byrd Robotics team spent the entire day Saturday competing against other teams from Central Virginia, and they took home the first place prize in the category of research. We are so proud of them! Check out our school website tomorrow for more information about this hard working group of students.
This Tuesday night families and students are challenged to participate in the Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course before our PTA meeting! The obstacle course will open in the multipurpose room at 5:15 and the PTA meeting will start at 6:30. Also, we will announce the PTA Reflections participants and winners at the PTA meeting. Please come out to support the talented reflections participants here at BES!
The Tuesday night ZUMBA classes have been cancelled until we come back to school in January.
This Friday, November 20th, is Grandparent’s Day at Byrd Elementary! This is a very special event for grandparents to join their grandchildren for a fabulous lunch and an activity in the classroom. Students will bring home a schedule on Tuesday and we will post it on the website as well. Due to limited parking at the school, additional parking is available at the Company 4 Fire Station, and we will run two shuttle busses starting at 10:15.
Thank you to everyone who has continued to support Food Pantry Friday’s. This week the drive will focus on collecting any type boxed item such as mac’n’cheese, cereal, mashed potatoes, etc. Send donations in by Friday, November 20th. The class with the most donated items wins a special prize!
Would you like a way for your child to cherish the memories of elementary school? If you purchase your yearbook by the end of November, you will pay the special early bird price of $17! On December 1st the price will go up to $20. Students brought home a flyer with information about yearbook sales the other week.
Thank you for reading!
