Hello Byrd Families,
This is a special early edition of the BES weekly reminders because there are so many fun events taking place next week, and we want families to have adequate planning time.
The Book Fair is finally here! Friendly monster characters have taken over the library and filled it with books for students to purchase Monday through Friday from 8:45-2:30. Students will have the opportunity to visit the Book Fair during their Library ENCORE, and other times teachers deem appropriate. There is also an on-line Book Fair that will be open until November 12th. Each book purchased from our Book Fair supports our school!
Next week BES will celebrate “Bullying Prevention Month”, and students will dress to a different theme each day to show their support.
Monday (10/26): Wear Red Day. Red signifies the red of a stop sign and is a message to stop bullying.
Tuesday (10/27): Wear Crazy Socks because “Bullying Makes Us Crazy”.
Wednesday (10/28): Students pair up with a friend and dress alike to show we “Pair Up Against Bullying”.
Thursday (10/29): Students wear their favorite jersey or sports team apparel because we “Team Up Against Bullying”.
Friday (10/30): Students will wear school apparel or school colors to signify that we BES we “Stand Together Against Bullying”.
Thursday night is our BES FALL Festival. Families are invited to come to school any time between 5:00 – 6:30. There will be fun reading and math stations set up in the cafeteria and students can Trick-or-Treat around the school. The Book Fair will be open during the festival as well. Please send a bag of candy into your child’s homeroom teacher to support this event.
Thank you for reading, and have a wonderful weekend!
